Magnolia

Barbara and Peter have built a low impact contemporary house on the site of an old energy-inefficient 1960s bungalow. Their house ‘enhances the local area’ by maximising the use of natural light as well as optimising energy usage to provide a warm, inviting living space.

Some of the many energy efficiency measures they have installed include:

  • mechanical heat and ventilation recovery (MHVR)
  • solar panels
  • underfloor heating
  • condensing gas boiler
  • triple glazing
  • thermal mass insulation
  • low energy lighting
